Angel Densetsu Review

I'm picky when it comes to manga, so it's really rare that I actually find a series that I really like.  But  Angel Densetsu was actually really good.  It had a perfect mix of comedy, action, and even a little bit of romance.  And the romance was kept to the minimum - they didn't even kiss until the second-to-last chapter of the 85-chapter series.

That's the main character, Kitano Seiichiro.  If you think he looks super creepy and weird, that's the POINT, and what the whole manga revolves around.

So Kitano is one of the sweetest and honest guys around, seriously.  But his creepy face scares people into thinking he's the devil incarnate or this crazy thug who kills people or whatever.  He quite unintentionally beats up the scariest thugs in town, giving him quite the reputation.  The whole thing is just hilarious and how he makes friends is entertaining.

This is Takehisa Yuji.  He's my personal favorite character.  In the beginning he's a total JERK and he's actually one of the first people to pick a fight with Kitano, but after being beaten by him he takes a "little brother" role as a respectful thug.  Even when he finds out later that Kitano is really a normal and really nice person, he doesn't care: "Kitano-san is one of my best friends in the entire world.  I don't give a sh*t if he's a thug or a normal person."

So yeah, I totally recommend this manga to everyone who wants a bit of comedy or action, or both.  It's basically a series of clearing up misunderstandings and the ending is a happy one.  Kitano is just so lovable <3
