Okay so recently I just got the Surface Pro 3 laptop.
I pretty sure this has been out for months or so...but whatever, REVIEW TIME!
Okay this laptop has a pretty decent price, $999.99 (at Best Buy). Okay, so maybe not everyone has a thousand dollars to spare, but~ the Surface Pro 3 has pretty neat features.
The Surface Pro 3 is thinner and lighter than the previous two versions, despite having a larger 12-inch display and higher screen resolution. A new kickstand makes it easier to set up and use, and the keyboard cover remains a best-in-class example. The Surface Pro 3 is now optimized for a digital pen, which is included. (Okay for animators like me, if you have the Surface Pro 3, totally download Paint Tool Sai (the latest version please) because the pen and the laptop's program is very compatible!) However, that doesn't mean that the Surface Pro 3 is perfect! That excellent keyboard cover is not included in the base price, and its improved touchpad still doesn't measure up. The chassis lacks pen storage, and even with tweaked kickstand and keyboard hinges, the Surface Pro 3 still doesn't fit perfectly on the lap.
Stating that, you probably think I love just about any technology. That's not exactly true. The Surface Pro 3 may have been better than the last two, but it still needs a lot of work. The first thing I realized with the Surface Pro 3 is that it has tablet and laptop features. I expected it to be a laptop but, the touchscreen, window screen sliding, etc. gives it some satisfying tablet features.
In conclusion, I don't really recommend the Surface Pro 3. (I wasn't really trying to make it sound good or bad.) Okay, to be more specific, I don't recommend it to students in general. For minor gamers maybe this could be good since it's very portable. But students need a lot of data usage and blah blah blah. The Surface Pro 3 isn't comfortable. I like to use my laptop on my lap but the size and the kickstand makes that difficult. Also, I don't know if it's just me but I like my computer to boot faster. The Apple MacBook Air takes less than 10 seconds to turn on and get to your window screen. The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 however takes much more time. Oh and did I mention that the keyboards are sold separately? In MY OPINION this is a waste of money.
If you're looking forward to get the Microsoft Surface Pro 3, I suggest you guys think over it. It may look and sound cool, but think about what good it'll do you. Laptops aren't furniture, they are used for business, studies, blah blah blah. (Occassionaly games owo)
